LIFETIME WARRANTY for all waterproofing jobs
We must control water, moisture and humidity. This is done with the
installation of proper vapor barriers, wall insulation and proper
dehumidification. Mold treatments and moisture control measures are
critical to minimize the chances for future health and structural
concerns. Over 1000 known fungi have been identified beneath homes
and need to be eliminated or controlled. While we are not hygienists,
microbiologists or scientists our study of Health and Medicine from a
Holistic point of view tells us that eliminating or minimizing these
conditions are a must to ensure your good health and avoid Sick House
Syndrome.
From an article published in the Morning Call, September 12, 2004:
"Some Ways to Keep Crawl Spaces Dry," talk of our newer methods that
give you better results. "For years, humidity- or time-controlled
fans placed under a vented house have been the recommended way to
help dry a too-wet crawl space. Experts now say these fans draw in
moist, humid air adding to the problem."
Crawl Space Repair has been using this recommended method or
"conditional crawl space" FOR YEARS as THE way to keep crawl spaces
dry. This method is where you close up the crawl space by sealing the
foundation vents with blocks of foam. Then foam panels (about 1.5" to
2" thick) are glued to the interior sides of the foundation walls.
Heavy 6-mil plastic is then used to cover 100% of the dirt or gravel
floor and up the wall a few inches, encapsulating the moisture.
"Once you seal the crawl space, you can go one step further and use a
special dehumidifier to remove any moisture. Then you know the moisture
is gone. Never ignore excessive dampness in your home."
